Revises provisions relating to excavations. (BDR 40-749)

Failed·4/12/25
Introduced Text

Nevada SB214 modifies the definition of excavation to exclude movements or removals of earth, rock, or other material that occur 18 inches or less.

Nevada SB214 revises the definition of "excavation" under Nevada Revised Statutes, excluding movements or removals of earth, rock, or other material that occur 18 inches or less below the surface of the original groundline. This change affects the notification requirements for excavations in areas known or reasonably known to contain subsurface installations, exempting certain shallow excavations from these provisions. The bill also modifies the existing law's definition of excavation, which previously excluded movements or removals occurring more than 12 inches below the surface.
