SB164

Extends the validity period of concealed firearm permits from 5 to 10 years.

This bill revises provisions relating to permits to carry a concealed firearm in Nevada. It mandates that a sheriff shall issue a permit to an applicant unless the applicant is not qualified to possess a handgun or obtain a permit. The sheriff must conduct an investigation, including a background check through the National Instant Criminal Background Check System. The bill increases the validity period of such permits from 5 to 10 years.
