Proposed Nevada constitutional amendment to establish a business court with exclusive jurisdiction over commercial disputes.
The Nevada Assembly Joint Resolution AJR8 proposes an amendment to the Nevada Constitution to establish a business court with exclusive original jurisdiction over disputes involving shareholder rights, mergers and acquisitions, fiduciary duties, receiverships, and other commercial or business disputes. If the Legislature establishes such a court, it must provide by law for the appointment of business court judges by the Governor and a chief judge, and fix their terms of office.
