Introduced Text

Proposing to amend the Nevada Constitution to adopt the National Popular Vote Compact.

This bill proposes to amend the Nevada Constitution to adopt the National Popular Vote Compact. The Compact aims to ensure that the presidential candidate who receives the most votes nationwide becomes the President. If the Compact is in effect during a presidential election, Nevada's presidential electors will vote for the national popular vote winner. The Compact allows states to withdraw and rejoin, and it becomes effective when states with a majority of electoral votes adopt it. The amendment requires approval by the Legislature and voters in an election.
