Nevada AJR6 urges Congress to extend the Social Security Fairness Act, which repeals the Government Pension Offset and the Windfall Elimination Provision. These changes benefit millions of government employees and retirees, increasing their Social Security benefits. The act applies to benefits from December 2023 forward, restoring benefits to many public employees and increasing monthly benefits by up to $558. The resolution also seeks backdated payments for affected beneficiaries.
