Introduced Text

AJR4 revises Nevada's legislative process, prohibiting appropriations to political organizations and nonprofit organizations in certain budget bills.

AJR4 amends the Nevada Constitution to prohibit appropriations to political organizations, including political parties and committees for political action, and to nonprofit organizations in any bill funding a portion of the state budget for the next two fiscal years. It also grants the Governor the authority to veto specific appropriations within a bill without rejecting the entire bill, requiring the Governor to provide reasons for such vetoes within 48 hours. The Legislature can override the Governor's veto of specific appropriations with a two-thirds majority vote in both houses.
