Nevada AB94 revises public works regulations by requiring all contractors and subcontractors to register for and participate in the federal E-Verify system to confirm the employment eligibility of all workers on public projects. The Labor Commissioner is tasked with enforcing this requirement, and violations can result in administrative penalties up to $5,000 per violation, with the Commissioner able to set a sliding scale penalty based on the severity of the violation. The Commissioner must also report violations to the Attorney General, who may then prosecute the violator.
