Requires contractors and subcontractors on public works to register for and participate in the federal E-Verify employment verification system to verify the eligibility for employment of all workers on the public work. The Labor Commissioner enforces this requirement and can impose penalties for violations. The Commissioner may establish a sliding scale for penalties based on the severity of the violation and must report violations to the Attorney General for potential prosecution.
