Nevada AB82 requires the Governor to annually proclaim the fifteenth day of the eighth month of the Hindu calendar as “Diwali Day,” the first day of the tenth month of the Islamic calendar as “Eid al-Fitr Day,” the first day of the month of Vaisakh of the Sikh calendar as “Vaisakhi Day,” and the day of the first full moon in the month of May as “Vesak Day.” The proclamations aim to highlight the diversity and inclusion of the cultures celebrating these days in Nevada and worldwide.
