Nevada AB501 allows pupils to earn academic credit for approved outdoor recreational activities.

Nevada AB501 amends the Nevada Revised Statutes to allow school boards to authorize pupils in junior high, middle school, or high school to receive credit for completing approved outdoor recreational activities. Activities eligible for credit include identifying native plants and animals, building trails, restoring natural habitats, outdoor survival skills, outdoor recreational skills like hiking and archery, and bird watching. The credit applies toward promotion to high school or graduation.
