AB495

Revises provisions relating to charter schools. (BDR 34-757)

Failed·5/24/25

Nevada AB495 revises charter school accountability by allowing sponsors to avoid termination or restart if schools show progress.

Nevada AB495 modifies charter school accountability by allowing sponsors to avoid terminating or restarting a charter school if it demonstrates progress towards meeting at least two school achievement and performance targets. Previously, a charter school had to be terminated or restarted if it received the lowest rating for three out of five consecutive years. This bill provides an exemption if the sponsor determines the school is making progress.
