Nevada AB494 amends state law to ensure that if federal education laws, such as the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act, Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, Title IX of the Education Amendments Act, or the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act, are repealed, the state will continue to enforce their provisions. The bill also allows individuals who previously had the right to bring a civil action under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act to do so in state courts. The act becomes effective on July 1, 2025.
