Nevada AB486 establishes a $2 fee on new vehicle tires sold to customers, with proceeds split between the Wildlife Crossings Account and the Solid.
Nevada AB486 amends existing law to create a $2 fee on new vehicle tires sold to customers, excluding those sold for resale. The seller must collect this fee and remit 95% of the proceeds to the Department of Taxation. Half of these proceeds are credited to the Wildlife Crossings Account in the State General Fund, used for wildlife crossings and related highway features. The other half goes to the Solid Waste Management Account in the State General Fund. The seller retains the remaining 5% to cover administrative costs. This act becomes effective on July 1, 2025.
