Nevada AB473 allocates $500,000 from the State General Fund to the Records, Communications and Compliance Division of the Department of Public Safety for a forensic DNA testing program. The funds can be used to conduct genetic marker analyses for unidentified deceased persons and, if no match is found in the Combined DNA Index System, for forensic genetic genealogy DNA testing. The appropriation becomes effective upon passage and must be spent by June 30, 2027, with any remaining balance reverted to the State General Fund by September 17, 2027.
