Introduced Text

Nevada AB425 aims to protect teachers' grading authority and prohibit interference from administrators or parents.

Nevada AB425 amends education provisions to ensure teachers retain sole authority over assigning grades and determining grade components and weights. The bill prohibits any person or entity, including school boards and administrators, from interfering with a teacher's professional judgment in grading. It also makes it a misdemeanor for administrators or parents to intimidate or harass teachers to alter grades. The bill eliminates requirements for certain teachers and administrators to develop learning goals and include pupil growth in evaluations.
