Requires certain health insurance to cover certain health care related to severe obesity.

Nevada AB399 mandates that certain health insurance policies and plans, including Medicaid, cover medically necessary treatment and care for diseases and conditions caused by severe obesity. This includes medically necessary bariatric surgery for individuals aged 18 and older, along with related preoperative and postoperative services. Insurers and managed care organizations may impose certain conditions, such as a preoperative period of up to three months and the requirement that surgery be performed in an accredited facility.
