Nevada AB316 revises governance of school districts by altering the composition and election of school boards.

Nevada AB316 amends the governance of county school districts by changing the composition and election of school boards. It mandates that school districts with 25,000 or fewer pupils can divide into election districts identical to the number of elected trustees. The bill also requires the board of county commissioners to appoint a nonvoting pupil trustee to the board of trustees of each county school district. Additionally, it revises the election and appointment of board members, including the establishment of election districts and the terms of office for trustees.
