AB299

Nevada AB299 revises prostitution laws, increasing penalties for customers and requiring arrests under certain conditions.

Nevada AB299 amends existing law to increase penalties for customers engaging in prostitution or solicitation. It mandates peace officers to arrest individuals with probable cause of such violations, regardless of a warrant. The bill raises the minimum fine for a first offense to $800 and for subsequent offenses to $1,300. It also revises the automatic sealing of records for those who complete court-ordered treatment programs. Civil penalties for violations are increased to $600 per offense, with at least 50% of collected funds used for enforcement and treatment programs.
