Failed·4/12/25
Introduced Text

Requires public schools to employ a full-time school counselor and establish a comprehensive counseling program.

This bill mandates that each public school, including charter schools, must employ a school counselor on a full-time basis and develop a comprehensive school counseling program. It also requires the inclusion of school counselors, psychologists, or social workers on school safety teams, regardless of whether the school employs these professionals full-time. Additionally, the bill ensures that information about the SafeVoice Program, including the hotline number, is displayed on student and staff identification cards and posted in visible areas around the school.
