Vetoed·6/2/25

Nevada AB244 prohibits food establishments with 10 or more locations from using polystyrene foam containers.

Nevada AB244 amends existing law to prohibit food establishments with 10 or more locations from selling, preparing, providing, or transporting food or beverages using disposable foodware containers made wholly or partially from polystyrene foam. The prohibition does not apply to food establishments with fewer than 10 locations unless they operate in states that have already banned such containers. The bill allows establishments to use existing inventory until it is depleted. Violations are subject to civil penalties up to $1,000 per violation.
