Nevada AB204 revises provisions relating to medical debt collection. It prohibits health care entities and collection agencies from reporting medical debt to consumer reporting agencies and voids any such reported debt. The bill also prohibits certain collection actions, including selling medical debt to a collection agency, deferring or denying care for payment, and requiring legal or judicial processes. Extraordinary collection actions are banned during emergencies or public health events.
