Revises provisions relating to the sealing of certain records. (BDR 3-843)

Vetoed·6/2/25

Expands automatic sealing of eviction case court files during the COVID-19 emergency.

This bill revises provisions relating to the sealing of certain eviction case court files. It expands the circumstances under which an eviction case court file related to an action for summary eviction is sealed automatically. The bill provides for the automatic sealing of any such file upon motion of the tenant, if the court finds that the landlord does not oppose the motion, or if an appeal taken by a party to the action is resolved in certain ways.
