Nevada AB194 amends Chapter 202 of the Nevada Revised Statutes to prohibit the intentional release, organization, or causing of the release of 10 or more balloons inflated with a gas lighter than air within a 24-hour period. This prohibition does not apply to hot air balloons, balloons used in governmental or scientific research, or balloons released indoors. Violators are subject to a civil penalty of up to $250 for each balloon released in excess of the limit. The Attorney General or a district or city attorney can bring a civil action to enjoin the violation and recover the penalty.
