Nevada AB167 revises provisions for using corrective room restriction on children in detention or treatment facilities. The bill reduces the time after which certain requirements apply, from 24 hours to 15 hours. It also reduces the maximum consecutive hours a child can be subjected to corrective room restriction, from 72 hours to 24 hours. Corrective room restriction can only be used if all other less-restrictive options have been exhausted and only for specific purposes: modifying negative behavior, holding the child accountable for a rule violation, or ensuring safety or security.
