Nevada AB132 revises water appropriation requirements for wildlife guzzlers, increasing capacity and pipe length limits.
Nevada AB132 modifies existing law to exempt certain wildlife guzzlers from water appropriation requirements. The bill increases the maximum capacity of guzzlers to 40,000 gallons and the maximum pipe length to 1/2 mile. These guzzlers must have a capture area of 1 acre or less and be developed by a state or federal agency or in consultation with the Department of Wildlife. The changes apply if the collection does not conflict with existing water rights as determined by the State Engineer.
