Ca Text

Nebraska LR311CA proposes a constitutional amendment to establish a Commission on Redistricting.

Nebraska LR311CA proposes a constitutional amendment to create a Commission on Redistricting. Every ten years, starting in 2031, the Legislature would establish a screening committee to appoint a nine-member commission. The commission would draw and recommend election district boundaries to the Legislature. The commission would consist of three members from the largest political party, three from the second largest, and three unaffiliated members. The Legislature would not redraw districts; if rejected, the commission would redraw them.
