This bill proposes a constitutional amendment to change the compensation of Nebraska Legislature members. Starting January 6, 2027, each member will be paid at the state minimum wage set by law. In addition to their salary, members will receive reimbursement for travel expenses to and from regular or special sessions. The state will also provide health insurance with benefits equivalent to those offered by Medicaid. The amendment will be submitted to voters in the November 2026 election.
