Interim study to explore establishing a ways and means committee to improve budget process coordination.

This resolution proposes an interim study to assess the feasibility and benefits of creating a ways and means committee to enhance coordination between the Revenue Committee and the Appropriations Committee of the Nebraska Legislature. The study will examine current roles, revenue forecasting alignment, best practices from other states, potential duties of a ways and means committee, and opportunities to improve budget procedures. The Executive Board of the Legislative Council will prepare a report with findings and recommendations by December 15, 2025.
