Nebraska LR195 proposes an interim study to review the impact of unfunded and underfunded mandates on counties and county governments.

Nebraska LR195 directs the Government, Military and Veterans Affairs Committee to conduct an interim study on the impact of unfunded and underfunded mandates on counties and county governments. The study will identify and examine programs and services enacted by the Legislature that increase county expenditures without corresponding state funding. It will include an examination of statutes imposing the largest burden on counties, any corresponding property tax increases, and mandated but unfunded programs or services.
