Nebraska LB960 would mandate that each school board include nonvoting student members from high schools. The number of student members would equal the number of elected school board members. Student members would attend all public meetings, receive meeting materials, and serve as a liaison between the student body and the school board. They could introduce agenda items but would not vote or access confidential information. The school board would determine the selection process and term length for student members.
