LB891

Nebraska LB891 amends the Child Care Licensing Act to change background check requirements, establish a complaint tracking system, and allow.

Nebraska LB891 amends the Child Care Licensing Act by requiring child care staff members to undergo national criminal history record information checks and searches of sex offender registries every five years. The bill also mandates that child care providers and staff members submit fingerprints for these checks. Additionally, it allows volunteers to be included in staff-to-child ratios if they pass background checks and meet qualifications. The Department of Health and Human Services must maintain a complaint tracking system for licensing violations.
