Exempts over-the-counter drugs from sales and use taxes in Nebraska.

Nebraska LB849 amends the state's sales and use tax code to exempt over-the-counter drugs from taxation. This bill defines over-the-counter drugs as those identified by the United States Pharmacopoeia, Homeopathic Pharmacopoeia, or National Formulary, or those intended for medical use. The exemption applies to these drugs starting October 1, 2026. The bill also repeals the previous section on tax exemptions.
