Nebraska LB837 permits rounding of cash transaction amounts to the nearest five cents. If the total amount, including taxes, ends in one, two, six, or seven cents, it may be rounded down. If it ends in three, four, eight, or nine cents, it may be rounded up. Transactions totaling one or two cents must round up to five cents. This rounding does not apply to transactions paid by instruments like checks, credit cards, or electronic transfers.
