Failed·4/17/26
Introduced Text

Nebraska LB825 mandates mental health practitioners to complete domestic abuse training.

Nebraska LB825 amends the Mental Health Practice Act to require mental health practitioners to complete three hours of training on domestic abuse. This training includes screening tools for victims, indicators of high lethality, documentation standards, referrals to domestic abuse services, impact on children, ethical practice, and trauma-informed care. The act also mandates that provisional mental health practitioners disclose their status to clients and identifies their supervisor. Failure to disclose is grounds for discipline. The act becomes operative on January 1, 2027.
