LB808

Establishes a child care licensing pilot program in Nebraska to increase availability and capacity of day care facilities.

Nebraska LB808 creates a child care licensing pilot program under the Child Care Licensing Act. The Director of Public Health can contract with licensees to develop this program, aiming to boost the availability and capacity of day care facilities. The director may grant up to five-year licenses to facilities participating in the pilot program, which can waive certain licensing requirements. If successful, the director will recommend statutory changes to the Legislature. Facilities in the pilot program must comply with alternative terms to protect children's health, safety, and welfare.
