Nebraska LB779 establishes that health care facilities and collection agencies cannot charge interest or late fees on medical debt until ninety days after the due date of the final invoice. The fees cannot exceed three percent of the amount of the medical debt per year. Additionally, an individual's primary residential property cannot be subject to liens or foreclosures due to medical debt.
