LB753

Provide for recognition and enforcement of military protective orders under the Protection Orders Act

Complete·4/17/26

Nebraska LB753 allows military protective orders to be recognized and enforced under the Protection Orders Act.

Nebraska LB753 amends the Protection Orders Act to recognize and enforce military protective orders. It defines "military protective order" and allows such orders to be admitted as evidence in protection order proceedings. Peace officers must determine if a military protective order has been issued against a person they arrest who is a member of the armed forces, and notify the appropriate authority if there is probable cause to believe the order has been violated. The bill also repeals certain original sections and harmonizes provisions.
