Nebraska LB642, the Artificial Intelligence Consumer Protection Act, mandates that developers and deployers of high-risk artificial intelligence systems take steps to prevent algorithmic discrimination. Effective February 1, 2026, developers must disclose known risks of discrimination to deployers and provide documentation. Deployers must implement risk management policies, complete impact assessments, and notify consumers about the use of high-risk systems. The Attorney General has exclusive enforcement authority, with the ability to bring actions against violators.
