Nebraska LB520 establishes specific food safety and fire safety requirements for bed and breakfast establishments. Food must be clean, wholesome, and stored at appropriate temperatures. Operators must be certified in food handling. Kitchens must have fire suppression hoods and fire extinguishers. Bed and breakfasts must have smoke alarms, heat detectors, and emergency lighting. The State Fire Code must include provisions for fire prevention, flammable materials, and exit adequacy. Smoking is prohibited inside the establishments.
