Nebraska LB489 amends section 70-1012 to prohibit entities other than public power districts, municipalities, and electric cooperatives from operating, maintaining, constructing, or acquiring transmission lines and related facilities. The bill also requires written notice to the board for certain construction or acquisition activities. Exemptions include facilities replacing smaller generating plants, those generating less than 25,000 kilowatts, and those complying with critical infrastructure protection requirements. The bill repeals the original section 70-1012.
