Introduced·1/21/25
Introduced Text

Nebraska LB467 mandates health carriers and utilization review agents to implement a prior authorization application programming interface by January.

Nebraska LB467 amends the Utilization Review Act to require health carriers and utilization review agents to implement and maintain a prior authorization application programming interface, effective January 1, 2028. This interface must comply with 45 C.F.R. 156.223(b) as it existed on January 1, 2025. The bill excludes prior authorization requests for drug coverage from this requirement. The legislation also renames and renumbers sections of the Utilization Review Act and repeals the original section 44-5416.
