Nebraska LB420 would change the Public Employees Retirement Board's composition and terms. The board would consist of nine appointed members and the state investment officer as a nonvoting, ex officio member. Seven of the appointed members would be active or retired participants in the retirement systems administered by the board. The terms of the appointed members would be staggered, with some beginning in 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2023, and 2029. The Governor would appoint members subject to legislative approval. The bill also repeals the original section.
