Allows nonlicensed funeral directors and embalmers to officiate at funeral ceremonies in Nebraska.
Nebraska LB418 amends the Funeral Directing and Embalming Practice Act to permit nonlicensed funeral directors and embalmers to officiate at funeral ceremonies. The bill repeals the prohibition on nonlicensed individuals officiating at funerals and adds this allowance to the list of permissible activities for licensed professionals. It does not change the disciplinary actions for licensed professionals who engage in prohibited activities.
