Nebraska LB410 would mandate that insurance policies, certificates, contracts, and self-funded employee benefit plans provide coverage for prosthetics and orthotics. This coverage must at least match the federal Medicare program's coverage as of January 1, 2024. The bill allows for deductibles and copayments and permits insurers to require that prosthetics and orthotics be provided by a prosthetist with whom the insurer has a contract. The bill does not apply to short-term major medical policies or limited-benefit coverage.
