Nebraska LB273 modifies the powers and duties of attorneys-in-fact under a power of attorney for health care. The bill specifies that attorneys-in-fact cannot consent to life-sustaining procedures, withhold or withdraw artificially administered nutrition and hydration, or make decisions that could result in the death of an unborn child if the principal is pregnant and the child is likely to survive. The attorney-in-fact must have the principal determined incapable of making health care decisions before acting.
