LB229

Nebraska LB229 excludes marketplace network contractors from the Employment Security Law.

Nebraska LB229 amends the Employment Security Law to exclude marketplace network contractors from its definition of employment. A marketplace network contractor is defined as someone who enters a written agreement with a marketplace network platform to connect with individuals or entities seeking services. The bill specifies conditions under which such contractors are considered independent and not employees, including that they can engage in outside employment and are not required to accept specific service requests.
