Nebraska LB1161 amends the age of majority to eighteen. Individuals eighteen and older can enter into binding contracts, execute financial documents, and make health care decisions without parental consent. Those under nineteen who are pregnant, parents of children under eight, or experiencing pregnancy-related conditions can also consent to health care decisions independently. The bill repeals the original section 43-2101, Revised Statutes Cumulative Supplement, 2024.
