Nebraska LB1009 modifies the start date for workers' compensation benefits under the Nebraska Workers' Compensation Act.
Nebraska LB1009 amends the Nebraska Workers' Compensation Act by changing the date when compensation begins for disabled workers. Under the bill, compensation will no longer start on the fourth day but will begin on the eighth day of disability. If the disability lasts for six weeks or more, compensation will be computed from the date the disability began. A partial day of disability is considered a full calendar day of disability for these purposes. The original section 48-119 is repealed with the enactment of this bill.
