Nebraska LB1000 changes penalties for violations of domestic abuse and sexual assault protection orders.

Nebraska LB1000 amends the Protection Orders Act to change penalties for violations of domestic abuse and sexual assault protection orders. A first offense involving a domestic abuse or sexual assault protection order is a Class I misdemeanor, while a second or subsequent offense is a Class IV felony. A third offense is a Class IIIA felony, and a fourth or subsequent offense is a Class IIA felony. The bill also adjusts penalties for violations of harassment protection orders. The original section 26-118 is repealed.
