SB87

Modify holidays for certain employees and create an annual floating holiday

Complete·4/3/25

Montana SB87 removes State General Election Day as a holiday for legislative employees and introduces an annual floating holiday for qualified.

Montana SB87 modifies holiday observance for certain employees by removing State General Election Day as a holiday for legislative employees. It also establishes an annual floating holiday for qualified legislative employees. This floating holiday allows full-time employees to choose a day off with pay, while part-time employees receive a proportionate day off. Unused floating holiday leave expires at the end of each calendar year and is not paid out upon termination. Short-term workers and student interns are not eligible for this benefit. The changes take effect on July 1, 2025.
