Montana SB498 amends the duties of election judges during primary elections. Judges must separate ballots by political party, count each party's ballots separately, and reconcile the total number of ballots with the number of electors. Judges must also list each party's candidates separately in tally books and bundle voted ballots for each party for return to the election administrator. The act takes immediate effect upon passage and approval.
